May 29, 2012.

As you might have noticed on my site, I received the new cover art for my next book.

I’m thrilled! I love the feathers and hand placement and look at that knife!

Isn’t it gorgeous?

More than darkness lurks in the shadows…

When the balance in the world is threatened, human survival rests in the hands of two unlikely saviors, a disgraced angel and a reformed demon.

As a punishment for failing his duty as an angel, Ruman finds himself encased in stone in the form of a guardian statue. Every few decades he is given a chance to repent. And fails. Until the totally unsuitable Caly Sawyer accidentally brings him back to life. Nothing is going to prevent him from gaining his freedom, especially some willfully stubborn human determined to kill him.

Caly doesn’t trust the mysterious stranger who came out of nowhere and risked his life for hers. As a demon hunter, she knows there is something not quite human about the sexy bastard. Her ability to detect demons is infallible. She should know. She used to be one.

War is brewing between demons and humans. The demon infection that Caly had always considered a curse might just be the key to their survival…if Ruman can keep her alive long enough. Despite the volatile attraction between her and her sexy protector, Caly’s determined to do whatever it takes to keep everyone alive. The more Ruman learns about his beautiful charge, the more he questions his duty and loyalty…and dreads the call to return home. If they can’t learn to trust each other in time, one of them will die.

I’m excited for this release. I’m aiming for Mid-June….if I get the edits back and done in time. Gulp!

May 28, 2012.

I found so many pictures that spoke to me, but I think this picture say it all :

The caption is never surrender.

I wanted to thank our troops and their families for all the sacrifices they gave for us to have our freedoms.

It is appreciated!

Happy Memorial Day!

This is my very wild rose bush. Yes, I really need to read up on how to trim it properly.

It spreads out bigger each year. When in bloom, it’s very colorful.

When the blooms fade, wild daisies pop up. Very beautiful all summer long.

Now, the dog is a different matter.

He swears the chipmunks and squirrels that run in there while he is chained up during the day are having a party without him.

He so wants to join them!

Too bad he doesn’t see the animals shoot out the other end. lol

I think the only thing he ever caught there was a snake.

And yes, I had to go rescue the poor thing.

May 21, 2012.

My flowers are up!

I’m still waiting for my Lilies to bloom.

My wild onions/chives are ready to eat. The onions I planted last year that the dog didn’t dig up came back.

The Rhododendrons came back despite the dog helping with the watering.

The Cherry Tree is in bloom…it’s now a tree full of bees!

My wild rose bush is green and very wild, trying to take over the yard.

School is out this week. Graduation is Thursday.

The Summer is almost here! Anyone else excited?

I’m one of those strange ducks that likes to exercise. I like the way my body aches afterwards if I work it hard enough. I like the way it makes me feel.

The hard part for me is keeping a schedule. I bought a treadmill a few years ago and for the first year, I was on it faithfully.

Five days a week. Walking, walking with an incline, running, etc.

I gained weight, but it was muscle, so I wasn’t too disappointed. Then someone gave me some bad advise and I stopped exercising.

After a few months, I dismissed what the person said and got back on the treadmill. Only, I was never as faithful.

Anyway, onto my story. This morning, I ran out of time and had to get to work. I only had five minutes, so I decided to up my workout and try running…it’s been a while.

The dog watched me for the longest time, one of those my human is doing something weird looks. I don’t think he could figure out who was chasing me. He hasn’t seen me run in a while, (not on the treadmill at least) and he likes to run with me (nip at my heels to get me to go faster). It must have looked like fun, because after a few minutes, he thought he was going to join me.

Small treadmill.

Need I say more?

The dog stepped on the track and was pushed right off. I hit the stop button pretty quick. I knew what was going to happen. It was either going to be me or him on that treadmill. Who do you want to bet was going to win?

<– That’s him looking all innocent.

Don’t be fooled. He’s a sneaky devil, plotting ways to get you to play with him or get even.

What is the one condiment that you don’t ever want to have leak in your fridge?

You guessed it.

Syrup.

One whole shelf was a sea of amber. Okay, a quarter of an inch.

How the heck does a giant whole get on the bottom of a bottle that hasn’t been moved in a coons’ age?

Second question…how do you chisel out and rescue the rest of the condiments?

A lot of muscle and hot water.

I must have lucked out and caught it fairly quickly…or maybe not. That stuff was still super sticky. It didn’t harden or dry out in the fridge at all. Sigh.

So, like any woman would do, I told my husband and said it was his job. <<evil grin>>

He just smiled, but I read that smile. It said put it back in the fridge. It didn’t bother him.

You guessed it. That left me to do the job.

Now the real question is where the heck did we get so many bottles of mustard!

May 13, 2012.

I wanted to wish all the mothers out there a very Happy Mother’s Day!

Some days being a mother can be the most challenging job. Other days, the most rewarding.

I hope everyone has a chance to celebrate with those they care about. Don’t forget all the wonderful mothers of the four legged variety, too!

To celebrate, me and 80 other authors have gotten together to give away our books. You don’t have to be a mother to win. One lucky winner will win all eighty books.

The contest runs from the 11th to the 16th.  Go here to win and follow the instructions.

Good luck to all of you!

May 10, 2012.

Did you ever start a project, all gun-hoe, then suddenly things start to slow down and get bogged down.
That’s what happened to me last week on my book edits.

It was taking me longer and longer to finish a chapter. Soon, I couldn’t even get one page done in an hour.

Talk about a study in frustration!

Anyone else feel like you’re the one stuck in the mud?

Then I realized that I was focusing too much on the tiny details and missing the big picture. Things finally started to click.

I’m almost done with the month long edits. It’s taken twice as long as I expected. The only good thing out of this is I do think the book is better for it.

How about you? Did you ever start a project then find that it just kinda petered out?

What did you do to get back the passion and dig yourself out?
