I witnessed something this week that I never thought I’d see…no, not pigs flying but close.
It sounds silly, but my husband is reading my book! You might not think this is a big deal, but let me put this in perspective. My husband has only read one other book in his life, and he’s perfectly fine with it. He will read manuals and trade magazines, but has never willingly read any fiction books. Smart as a whip…can build a vehicle from scratch and has done it a couple times, but reading is just not a thing he enjoys.
The other day, I caught him reading my book without me asking. I’m so thrilled.
Not only that, he gave me the greatest compliment a writer can get.
You made me stay up past midnight!
He also did the reader shuffle. This is something that experienced readers have all done, but never really think about it. It’s where you check how many pages you have to read to get to the next chapter, but when you get there, you keep reading because the book is too darn good to put down…and check how many pages to the next chapter. Rinse and repeat.
I have pictures, but I was threatened…er…warned…er…asked not to post any photos of him on my blog.
I gave him an innocent look, batted my lashes, and hid the camera behind my back, but the sneaky man knew what I was about. lol

OMG–LOL, your husband sounds like mine. He doesn’t like to read, but he read my book and he stayed up late and when he got up the next day, he started reading again. I was thrilled.
Congrats on your husband reading and loving your book.
Wow, your hubby does sound like mine.
Sometimes they do things like that to remind us why we married them.
