I’m looking for a little bit of humor and a good laugh, so I’ve selected two fun reads to go head-to-head this week.
Here are the blurbs:
The Mane Attraction ~
Weddings have the strangest effect on people. Exhibit 1: Sissy Mae waking up in Mitch Shaw’s bed the morning after her brother Bobby Ray’s nuptials. Exhibit 2: the gunmen trying to kill Mitch. Exhibit 3: Sissy Mae escorting a bleeding yet sexy lion shifter to her Tennessee Pack’s turf for safe keeping. It doesn’t help that Mitch’s appraising gaze makes her feel like the most desirable creature on earth.
Mitch is an undercover cop about to testify against some dangerous ex-associates. Even more worrisome, he’s harbouring hot, X-rated fantasies about one fast-talking little canine – and he has to deal with every male in Sissy Mae’s Pack sniffing around her in a way that makes his hackles rise. Mitch has his pride, and he intends to show Sissy Mae that when a lion sets out to make you his mate, the only thing to do is purr, roll over, and enjoy one hell of a ride.
Barbie and the Beast ~
A Hairy Situation Barbie Bradley was swept off her feet – literally. One moment the twenty-something was traversing Forest Lawn Cemetery in the dead of night with her best friend, the next she was thrown like a sack of potatoes over a man’s shoulder. True, she and Angie had come to this odd locale for a singles party, but this wasn’t quite how she’d planned to get picked up.
Hello Dolly! Darin Russell found “Ms. Right” at work, which was surprising because girls in the cemetery were usually a tad, in a word, stiff. Not that this one couldn’t stand to loosen up. She seemed particularly sensitive about being named after the Mattel toy, and before he popped the question he had to know how she’d react to his furry little secret. You see, though he had a tuxedo and a Porsche, he had more in common with the residents of the Miami Zoo than Ken. And if things went according to plan, Barbie was going to see his animal side.
Which one would you read or what are you reading now?
Find out which one I chose on Friday!

Hi Stacy,
Great job on the reviews.
Thanks for stopping by, Ella!
Both books sound hilarious. I hope they live up to the blurbs.
Loved all of the Pride series by Laurenston. I haven’t heard of the other book, but the blurb made me laugh. I’m going to check it out.
I’ve read a few of Laurenston before. I have all her books (written under both names), I just haven’t had time to read them all.
Her lates bear book sounds right up my alley! I’ll have to pick that one up next time I order books.
