So how big is too big?

Posted July 19, 2012, under Animal, Life, Personal Update

In the last few days, three people have suggested that our dog is going to fat. Okay, they flat out said he was huge.

No one likes to believe that their baby is fat, but I’ve come to realize that the dog might be a wee-bit heavy.

He’s a three year old black lab and the same weight as me. Now, I just have to figure out how to put the dog on a diet. Maybe we’ll both have to start exercising more frequently instead. I might have a pound or two that I could spare to loose.

The good news…I bought a new camera. The last camera was my son’s, and I couldn’t take a picture with it worth a darn.

This new camera is the next best thing since sliced bread. Just look at how clear the picture came out? I love the color. And the detail – you can almost count each blade of grass. No more taking twenty pictures in order to find one photo that might not be too blurry to use. Yay! Love it!

First off, what a beautiful dog. Second, my dog is on a diet too. He’s older–12–and over weight, so we have taken up going for two walks a day–not overly long walks, but enough to get us both moving.

      That’s what I was figuring…walking.

We have a huge front yard. Yes, we live in the country. I can walk and read at the same time, and he will usually follow me.

I might have to go visiting with him as well. Maybe he just needs a playmate…someone to help keep him active.

My Doxie was overweight too going for walks is good but you should also try 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in his drinking water good for curbing appetite and also for keeping fleas away :) Beautiful boy by the way.

My son calls him Sexy Rexy. ;)
      He’s a handful.

I think I’ve heard of this meathod before…or maybe it was two tablespoons of fish oil to help keep his coat smooth.

I’ll have to look it up. Thanks!

He doesn’t look fat at all to me. He’s a pretty dog.

He’s not too big yet, but he was a very broad dog to begin with. He neeeds to loose 5-10 pounds.

I’m afraid when winter hits, he’ll really pack on the pounds and never get rid of them.

Wish me luck! I’m going to need it. This is the type of dog that walks its owner and not the other way around. lol
