World War Three...

The battles between the two cats has settled down…some. Instead of all-out war, they engage in minor skirmishes. Charming, the intruder, buzzes our forty pound main coon, trying to get him to come out and play. Sam—a bigger, lazier cat you’ve never seen—tolerates the shaggy gray pest, but doesn’t engage. Poor baby. At least they no longer need to be separated!

Speaking of pests, Charming has become quiet the mouser. Last night, past midnight, the house erupted with noise. Hubby got up and a little while later, I heard more crashing and loud swearing. Apparently, Charming caught a mouse and the dog decided he wanted in on the action. Hubby was in the way…lol.

This is the third mouse the cat has caught this week…and the third mouse the dog has stolen. Poor kitty. All his hard work stolen by a bigger, larger bully. I don’t complain, because the dog snatches up the mice and runs outside with them, which means I don’t have to deal with the creatures.

All I can say is ewww! Mouse! Yuck!

Here is a picture of the bully…er, Max…playing in the nice weather after such a long winter. I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day and enjoyed the beautiful weather!

April? Are you sure?

I woke up to this…

Car with Snow

Yes, that’s snow. It wasn’t even 30 degrees this morning. I had frost on my windshield, but I refused to get out and scrap it off. I guess I asked for it, since I already put away my scraper.  :-?

What the heck!? At least it’s not the measurable snow that my parents received. Oh, and even better news? We’re supposed to get even more snow to welcome the beginning of May.  *oy vey*

Are you having any better luck with the weather? Oh, wait, maybe I don’t want to know. I’ll be jealous if you tell me it’s 80 and sunny. *pouts*

Review: Shattered Pack (Alpha Girl Book 6) by Aileen Erin

I began the Alpha Girl Series with the first book a few years ago. Once I start a book, I hate not finishing it. With Becoming Alpha, I remember nearly putting the book down. Gasp! Thankfully, I persisted, and this series has become one of my favorites!

DESCRIPTION:
Meredith Molloney never thought she’d find a mate, let alone someone like Donovan Murry—one of the most powerful Alpha werewolves alive. Now that she’s no longer cursed and the evil Luciana Alvarez has been taken care of, she thinks life will finally settle down. Boy, she has never been so wrong.

In the middle of the night, Donovan gets a call telling him that his pack has gone to pieces. The news that his second in command has been found brutally murdered has Donovan packing his bags for Ireland, but the last thing Meredith wants to do is go with him. Cosette just warned her that the Irish pack isn’t so happy about Donovan’s choice in mates.

But Meredith’s never let a few angry wolves stop her, and she’s not about to start now. She’s faced down much worse the past few months. But when she gets there, she finds that it’s not just an angry pack that stands in the way between her and her Full Moon Ceremony with Donovan.

Meredith is thrust into a deadly game of pack politics, one a fey beast has happily joined. When the magic and dust settle, she knows she’ll either have everything that she wants or lose it all.

REVIEW:
I’m a huge fan of the Alpha Girl Series, but I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy the series now that it has moved away from the main couple that we’ve come to love. I shouldn’t have worried. Like the last two books, Aileen Erin managed to pull it off!

Meredith and Donovan are a great couple! I love the way the author wove Meredith’s troubled past throughout the series. Her character growth made me instantly empathize with her—she doesn’t know the meaning of defeat! She was the perfect mate for Donovan. I love the mystery of Donovan. Unfortunately, I expected to learn more about him, but he came off as more of a secondary character. *pouts* He was supposed to be the most dominate alpha werewolf ever, but Meredith showed him up in every scene. While I understand this was her story, it was his as well, and his lack of alphaness was a little disappointing. Thankfully, Aileen Erin managed to expertly combine action and fantastic characters with an unforgettable love story to redeem the book.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and gobbled it down in one sitting. The story might have developed a little slow, but I found the ending was well worth the wait! If you enjoy the Alpha Girl Series, you won’t want to miss this edition. I can’t wait for the next book, where we move back to the main couple…releasing next year! *whimpers*
