May 29, 2012.

As you might have noticed on my site, I received the new cover art for my next book.

I’m thrilled! I love the feathers and hand placement and look at that knife!

Isn’t it gorgeous?

More than darkness lurks in the shadows…

When the balance in the world is threatened, human survival rests in the hands of two unlikely saviors, a disgraced angel and a reformed demon.

As a punishment for failing his duty as an angel, Ruman finds himself encased in stone in the form of a guardian statue. Every few decades he is given a chance to repent. And fails. Until the totally unsuitable Caly Sawyer accidentally brings him back to life. Nothing is going to prevent him from gaining his freedom, especially some willfully stubborn human determined to kill him.

Caly doesn’t trust the mysterious stranger who came out of nowhere and risked his life for hers. As a demon hunter, she knows there is something not quite human about the sexy bastard. Her ability to detect demons is infallible. She should know. She used to be one.

War is brewing between demons and humans. The demon infection that Caly had always considered a curse might just be the key to their survival…if Ruman can keep her alive long enough. Despite the volatile attraction between her and her sexy protector, Caly’s determined to do whatever it takes to keep everyone alive. The more Ruman learns about his beautiful charge, the more he questions his duty and loyalty…and dreads the call to return home. If they can’t learn to trust each other in time, one of them will die.

I’m excited for this release. I’m aiming for Mid-June….if I get the edits back and done in time. Gulp!

March 31, 2012.

Thank goodness for weekends!!

I just wish they lasted longer.

After a long week at work, I came home to a great surpise.

Proofs for my print book have arrived!

I called my husband, and we sat down and opened the box together. Beautiful!

I’ve thought long and hard about whether or not to read the book again. I’m not sure I would be able to read it and resist the urge to tweak things. I don’t think I’d be able to tell if any changes would be an improvement or not. Isn’t that when a writer should put down their pen?

I skimmed a few pages, and already want to ‘fix’ things. Stylistic changes.

Must.

Resit.

The urge.

So I left it up to a test reader. The first copy of my proofs went out last night.

Wish me luck!

On another note, I sent off my next book, The Demon Within, to my editor this week.

I should be getting the cover in about two weeks. Things are moving along.

Now I just have to find time to write something new.

March 14, 2012.

I’m so excited!  I finally got the official cover art for my Urban Fantasy, Electric Storm.

What do you think? Isn’t it beautiful? The designer did an awesome job!!

Blurb:

A woman with too many secrets dares to risk everything to claim the pack destined to be hers…if she can keep them all alive long enough.

Everything changed when Raven, a natural born conduit, accidentally walks in on a slave auction. She only wants a night out with her friends before her next case as a paranormal liaison with the police. Instead, she ends up in possession of a shifter and his guardian. When your touch can kill, living with two touchy-feely shifters is a disaster waiting to happen.

To make matters worse, a vicious killer is on the loose. As mutilated bodies turn up, she can’t help fear that her new acquisitions are keeping secrets from her. The strain of keeping everyone alive, not to mention catching the killer, pushes her tenuous control of her gift and her emotions to their limits. If they hope to survive, they must work together as a pack or risk becoming hunted themselves.

March 06, 2012.

I start a new job on Monday. Talk about nerve racking. Only a few days of freedom left to try and get all the extra bits of my writing done. I’m going to miss the days where all I had to do was write and connect with other reader and writers, but I had a few weeks of bliss, so I guess I shouldn’t complain.

I do have hopes that I like this new job. (Praying to the job fairies!) I will have a 45 minute commute twice a day to plot out my books. Maybe the new job will put me on a writing schedule, and I’ll get more things done. Crossing fingers!

I do still plan to publish my book late this month or early next month. I should be receiving my cover art this week. Squee! I’m so excited!! I’ll post as soon as I receive the final artwork. I also turned in the first round of edits last week, hence why there were no blog posts. Gosh, you can only read your own work so many times before you start to go insane and question yourself. Lots of work and nights of little sleep. My fabulous editor should get the next and last round of edits to me shortly.

I can’t wait to see the book online and have a copy in my hands!
